Lucy's haircut

Lucy's hair was getting scraggly in the back and the unevenness made it tricky to braid and twist nicely. I knew she needed a haircut but I couldn't bring myself to pay for it when she is so little and her hair is so easy to cut. I finally decided to do it myself and thankfully it turned out great! Lucy actually loved getting her haircut and told everyone she saw that day about it. She keeps asking me to cut her hair again almost every day :)

July 4th

We went to Aunt Michelle's house for July 4th this year and had a blast. Utah has legalized fireworks that  go up to 25 ft so Jared's cousin Trevor bought a few fun big fireworks and a bunch of little ground fireworks as well for the kids to watch. It was nice to stay at home and still get to see fireworks, a lot less stressful than trying to take the kids somewhere. Everyone in the neighborhood was setting them off so we ending up seeing a lot. Lucy was a trooper and loved it all, until the very last one when Jared's cousin screamed and scared her, poor girl. Timmy would be in more of the pictures but he had already gone to bed. Poor kid, he was so tired from playing with all the kids. 







Lucy loves sparklers and is really good about holding them carefully :)

 



She also was really good at putting them in the water when she was done. Sometimes when she wasn't done, too . . . :)








This is from a block party a few weeks ago. Lucy and her friend, Mary, decided they needed to run across this huge field. Once I caught up with them, they explained to me that they were going to see the dragons that lived in the woods.

because I have no pictures of Timmy in this post, here is the picture Jared sent me at work when he cut Timmy's hair. He was crying because the clippers scared him. Poor kid!



Cousins

Sometimes Jared's cousins, Hannah and Becca, help us out and watch Lucy and Timmy. Here are some gems from the last babysitting experience. They taught Lucy all about funny faces and apparently how to make cool shapes with play dough. We love these girls, and I LOVE these pictures. Lucy is so cute!

Strawberry Days

One thing I love now about summers in Utah is that every week one of the towns in Utah County is having a 4 or 5 day festival celebrating their town. I think it's just an excuse for each town to have a week-long party, but I'll take it :) This year we went to a little kids carnival-type thing for Pleasant Grove's Strawberry Days. It was awesome, until Lucy tried to do monkey bars by herself and fell right on her bum before I could get to her. I have never seen that girl in so much pain in my life, poor thing. I think she bruised her tailbone, and she's fine now, but it definitely scared me a bit. Anyways, other than that, we had a blast! Here are some fun pictures. 

Here is Timmy climbing the playground. He is fearless when it comes to playgrounds now and having a blast, but as you can see, he has this need to stop and bite things all the time lately. It is weird, but funny :)

Lucy saw the big boucy slide and was in love. She used to be terrified of these things but now she is obsessed.

Timmy is so stinkin cute, and SO BIG! His legs are almost too long for the stroller already.

 They had this "train" that was really a tractor pulling these barrels painted like animals. It was really cute and the kids loved it. I hesitated to let Timmy go alone but they had buckles like a stroller and he loved every minute so it turned out good.

This is my prideful moment. Here is Lucy's hair from the day they did parachutes at the library. It turned out awesome and it actually lasted half the day! Wahoo!



Story Time at the Library

Lucy has always loved the library, but mostly just running around it :) When we lived in PA last summer we went to the Moon Twp library and they had an awesome toddler time with songs and rhymes and dancing that she LOVED. We were so sad to leave it! When we moved back to Utah our library just had story time with reading books and they were kind of strict about kids sitting still (yeah right!) so we didn't go. But recently we found out about the town next to us and their awesome storytime and we have fallen in love. They do both stories and dancing and songs for about half an hour, and read probably 3 to 4 books by the time they are done. Lucy LOVES it and Timmy loves just running around the library. It is the best. Here are some fun pictures from the last few weeks.

Lucy is obsessed with shopping lately so she LOVES these baskets.

This is the first time EVER she sat for a story (2 weeks ago). It was amazing!

Last week they busted out the parachute. Lucy was in heaven!

She has proven to be an awesome parachuter. She likes to look at this picture on my phone and tell me how you have to pull the parachute up and down to make it go. Sometimes she even acts it out.
